Daniel Boyer, born in Lachine, Montréal,Québec on the 30th of April 1955, discovers the guitar at sixteen years of age. At this time he composes his first songs, gives a few shows in a duo but quickly realizes that his technique is defficient. Hence, he decides to undertake collegial guitar and music studies under the direction of Antonin Bartos. Also at this time he founded a couple of rock and folk bands and performed in and around the province of Quebec.

Once done with his studies, Daniel, is hired by Robert Savoie in Lachine, where he would teach for 14 years. During this time he discovered many talented young students and one of them happened to be Patrick Kearney! This is the beginning of his first compositions for classical guitar. Mainly he wrote them for fun but also to offer to his students.

Later on, while still continuing to teach, Daniel decided to try his hand at a new career; that of an author-composer-performer. This led him to recording two albums and to perform many shows in Quebec, Germany and France - it is in the latter country that he fell in love and has resided there since 1996.

Along with his teachers those of which Daniel states to have learned from are the following people: Monique Fauteux, Louis Valois, Gilles Peltier, Pierre Léger, Richard Addison, and so many more.

In France the name "Daniel Boyer" is beginning to circulate! He's curreently working along-side Claude Engel and Olivier Bloch-Lainé towards the production of his next recording project of songs. He however, is still writing for the classical guitar... and is "dabbling" in literature... (currently writing a collection of short stories). So keep your eyes and ears peeled on this talented multi-faceted artist....!
-Geneviève Batiat.

"The greatest gift a composer can receive, is to have his pieces played by great artist-performers .....
Patrick is one of these .... So, what a gift!!
" -Daniel Boyer.
