What is "Stringendo"? It is the second and latest CD recorded by Montreal guitarist Patrick Kearney. It is a project devoted to the event of the change of Millenium in Montréal. Patrick being a Montrealer decided to record music written by composers of and influenced by the Montreal area. The idea and project became a reality, in late 1998, when German record producer, Norbert Dams, had the opportunity of hearing Patrick play during the final round of the Guitar Foundation of America's classical guitar competition, held in Montréal that year. Mr. Dams was so impressed that this is what he had so say:
"I heard Patrick Kearney in the Final round of the Guitar Foundation of America competition, held in Montreal in 1998. At that time I wasn't even planning on sponsoring a recording project. My initial plans were to promote Edition Daminus and Daminus Records for the first time in North-America....but my products got lost on the way from Europe to Canada, so there was nothing to display! In the Finals there was alot of polished playing but only one player really touched me and reached my heart, despite the competition's pressure. This immediately interested me in sponsoring a CD production with Patrick. Well... here's the result. Open your heart!"
